I am a huge fan of Jennifer Paganelli and was excited and thrilled when my copy of Happy Home finally arrived. I opened the box, and out jumped an explosion of colors that reminded me of a confetti cupcake and just as delicious! I actually screamed a little bit with excitement. Like most sewing books, Jen included a chapter on general instructions as well as how to do several different stitches. The pattern sheets are stored in a bright pink envelope box in the front of the book. I love the use of envelopes like this. It makes a world of difference when you can keep the pattern sheets organized and in good shape for project after project. To me, the book is worth the price just for that feature. Though I have not had time to actually sew any of the projects in the book yet, I do have a "to do list". The pillows are fun and colorful, and I'm most anxious to make the "Playful Pattern Pillow" which is a hexagon pattern. I have been wanting to make something with hexagons, and this is a small enough items for me to learn the process with. I have a feeling the "Pretty Box" pattern is going to become addictive. I can't wait to make "Millie's Market Tote" and the "Broad Brim Hat" both of which are high on my list. I want to do a hat for not only myself, but my two great nieces too. The "Crocheted Pillow Case" will make quick and easy Christmas presents, and the "Madeline Quilt" looks like such fun and so beautiful with color. But you know the best thing about this book.....all the LOVE you can feel in each and every word, picture, and page. I think Jen says it best in her introduction, "feels like a warm hug and brings a smile to your face" Exactly!
