Comfort. The fit was not good---too wide and too long. Quality, too, is not what I expected from Birkenstock. A little flimsy.Essential arch support. The only 'house slippers' with the arch support I need. This is my 2nd pair.Honestly, the best part about these Sandals was dealing with the seller BRITISH BRANDS! I give them 5 starz. They emailed me about a slight defect that the sandas had and asked of I still wanted them.. then they offered a discount. The defect was a discoloration on the pearl colored part.. it looked like a receipt with fresh ink had transferred onto the sandal and left a light blue color. It was not that big a deal in person! It was so small, I had to look for it!I emailed them that i still wanted them. They were still beautiful sandals! After some miscommunication, the seller offered to message me directly. She took the time to listen to me, arrange the purchase directly and the sandals got here in no time. Probably the best customer service Ive had through Amazon!British Brands... i would definitely purchase from you again!!I cannot believe I haven’t owned a pair untilNow! I always thought I wouldn’t like them but now with the different styles offered I decided to get a pair-they are so form fitting to your sole everyone should have a pair! I wear them post runs!!!I've never worn Birkenstocks before, but my feet have been hurting so badly for several years, no matter what other kinds of shoes I've tried, that I thought I would try these. After the first few days of wearing them around the house, I fell in love with them. Now, my feet have even stopped hurting with other shoes. I've ordered an enclosed style to wear to work.I will say that Birkenstock's size chart is WRONG. I wear a 7 1/2 in US size, but a 36 in these. Luckily, I had recently bought some other shoes in Euro size, and I had an idea what size to order. I still had to send them back once, but Amazon's great "free return" policy made return and re-order a breeze. If you don't have a store nearby, this is the next best thing. Also, I found a chart where you can actually measure your foot for Euro sizes. http://www.footprints.de/en/shoes/correct-fit/I would highly recommend trying these shoes for anyone with painful feet, especially across the forefoot and toes.Super cute but I bought a size up thinking it would be okay but they were too big. I would have reordered but they didn’t have my size.I purchsed these thinking they might be beneficial since i am pregnant and have pregnancy related edema however the strap hits between my toe area and halfways up my foot. Awesome that the strap is adjustable however Did not provide relief or comfort during periods of swelling due to where the strap is located.I have been a long time wearer of Birkenstocks and tend to buy a new pair every one or two years, I've travelled far with them across lots of continents and they've seen me through some pretty prolific walks! If you're new to Birks then don't fear when you first put them on. They often feel a bit uncomfortable and unnatural, just wear them in over a week or two. I tend to start wearing them on small walks and then gradually increase it. Soon enough they'll start moulding to your feet and they will feel so natural! You might need to tighten the buckle after a while as your foot sinks into the sole. A few words of advice with Birkenstocks- try not to get them too wet, they can get a bit smelly and not really made for crossing rivers (or big puddles if you live in England!) A little water won't hurt them though- these are prone to smelling after a long while, I tend to alternate shoes, they like to have a good bake in the sun, otherwise other ways you can make them smell less is putting them in a bag in the freezer, tea tree oil or baking soda. Don't let this put you off though, they are made from natural materials!- Don't get fooled into buying the cheaper versions in TK Maxx, they're often more plastic and not the same quality as these- I'm a size 6 normally but always get a size 5 in Birkenstocks. They advise going bigger but i prefer them to fit snuglyAs you can see from the pictures the box was completely broken and battered when it arrived. You could blame this on couriers but then inside was just a bad the sandals were flung in and not covered up to prevent them from damage, the paper was very crinkled, almost looked reused and had tears in. I questioned whether they were even real or fakes they were that much of a mess.Contacted seller and had no response. These shoes are a gift for someone who feels these are a real treat due to the price tag and not being able to present them inside the original box spoils the magic a bit. They are over £50 for a sandal…. Expected a higher standard. As I absolutely love the tatty old Birkenstocks I have been wearing constantly, every summer, for 5 years, I thought it was about time I treated myself to another, identical pair! As the soles of the old ones have almost worn through to the cork! However, please beware that the part of the description which says that these are the narrow fitting ones, not the standard fit, is hidden from view at first glance, and I inadvertently bought narrow. However, they seem to be ok, just a slight tightness, which I know will be fine once they bed in and mould to my feet.I did get blisters with the last ones at first, but they quickly became the most comfortable sandals I'd ever owned!A little tip I was told last time, which worked a treat and which I am using this time, is to smear Vaseline on your feet, under where the strap touches, and it will seep into the leather and soften it, whilst forming a protective film over your skin to prevent chafing. It really does work!Bought these as love my Birkenstocks. My mum has a pair which are Pearly White which I love, thought these were them because they are described as Pearly White & pictures look Pearly White......alas upon arrival today they are more a Peachy/Cream/Pearl colour. But I am keeping them as are a nice colour and the buckle is a Rose Gold tone, which silly to say will look good when wearing Rose Gold Jewellery. They fit well..I always wear a size 5/EU38 in Birkenstock.....in other flat toe post sandals/mules i seem to be a size 6/EU 39 yet I am a UK size 5. As these are a regular width fit they are very generous in size...the narrow fit and regular fit both are gd for me. My advice to others would be stick with your normal size. So...have given these 5 stars as am happy with them, nearly gave 4 stars as not the colour as expected...seems my mums are Ice Pearl Mondstein which are not available in UK 5/EU 38...SHAME!!!
