A great read. Pope Frances is a gifted writer. This encyclical clearly lays out the arguments for a new vision towards our stewardship of Planet Earth. Not a knee-jerk 'tree huggers' harangue. But as always with this Pope, a thoughtful, clear and detailed view of what the current problem is, the critical timing required of our response, and the compelling arguments of why we should take action. Both the problem and solutions are defined within a spiritual and moral framework not usually associated with this subject. A clear detour from a more fundamentalist interpretation of the Scriptural writings defining man's primary role of dominance over the created world. Whatever your position on global warming and the environment in general, a must read from the thoughtful, knowledgeable and visionary leader of the global Catholic Church.
