Easy to assemble and it looks great. Simple, but not too ornate. Gave her some embroidered kitchen towels, then showed her where to put them. And added she can add more as she gets stuff.Loved this chest easy to assemble granddaughter love it alsoI was excited to get this. It looked pretty, but the woods where one of the hinges goes broke off in a chunk! Has to return it.I was very pleased with the chest, but I was also very disappointed. I paid a little more money because it write-up stated no assembly required and I had it directly shipped to my granddaughter for her 13th birthday. Since it came in pieces we had to go pick up the chest and get it put together and then take it back to her during the pandemic restriction period. You have a good product for a good price but update your website so no one else has to worry about getting this put together especially if it is for a special gift. Some people do not have the tools or the ability to assembly furniture properly.Quality is good. The cedar smell isn’t strong. I sprayed it with cedar oil. Very nice quality. Goes well my my honey oak 4 poster bed. Gives me extra storage for pillows or seasonal clothingI did not find this piece too hard to assemble. Some reviews mentioned it was hard to hold the lid in place when attaching the hinges. Attach the hinges to the assembled base first, then lay the unit down with the hinges on the floor. The lid can then be laid next to it and slid into place, making it easier to attach. The color of this piece perfectly matched the color of my Viking teak bedroom furniture, and the carved accent made it fit right into my decor.This is an "ok" piece of furniture for the price. It did arrive with a small dent on the lid, and a small chipped out piece on the bottom--which unfortunately was on the front side and not the back so is visible. I was able to fix it so it wasn't quite so obvious, though you can still see it if you look. I then took a furniture repair pen and colored it so it's not saying "Look at me, I'm broken." The color is very nice and would go well with oak furniture. The directions on assembly were a joke. If you have never put together furniture yourself, you will have some confusion on how to do this. It took me an hour to put it together. I started on my own, but it's nearly impossible to screw the lid on by yourself. You need one person to hold the lid while the other screws it on. Overall, I rate this a 3.I absolutely love this. It was quick and simple to put together, and I with no experience assembling furniture before was able to do it all in less than an hour. The instructions do say to put the lid on last though - this is only possible if you put it on its side or have a couple of people hold it exactly in place while you drill the pieces in. I would probably put the lid on before I attached it all to the base if I had to do it again.All in all, would highly recommend.
