I was so excited to get this chair and put it together! I needed a cute and semi-comfy chair for behind my desk at school. Honestly, I knew it was just for looks because I don't sit at my desk very much but was so surprised at how comfy this chair was to sit in! It was wide and had a short back, which I didn't mind because I don't ever want to get too comfortable with 22 little ones running around!Anyway, I bought it in December of 2018; just over a year ago. I loved it a lot! It was a fun and unique piece in a classroom overrun by mismatched wall coverings and posters galore. It was comfortable to use as a chair at my classroom desk because I was up and down so much. The vertical seat adjustment worked well for parent/teacher conferences when I had to sit at a different level to talk to parents. Overall, it was a fun chair...while it lasted.I want to preface my more constructive comments by saying that this chair was sat in only by me and, on very seldom occasion, a substitute teacher. Kids never sat on it and I never had one of those lazy teacher moments where I'd lazily wheel myself around the room because I was too "tired" to actually get up and walk across my 20'x20' classroom. Over time, a few small dings developed which I knew was normal wear and tear. What also became apparent after a while were the small cracks that appeared in the wood, mostly across the back (see pic). I am assuming that is from the veneer on the bent wood just cracking. I did not explore how deep the cracks went because I didn't want to make the problems worse...so I let that be. However, today was, quite literally, the tipping point and end of the chair's life in my classroom as I know it. I went to sit down and the thing tipped backwards and snapped right off the wheel base! I didn't get hurt. Wait a minute...my pride did because I did it in front of the kids who, thankfully, were more concerned about my well-being than laughing at me. I complimented them on not making a potentially embarrassing moment worse. Okay, I'm rambling. The frame had bent right over when it snapped and I didn't think to get a picture before the custodian tossed that half of the chair out. Oops. I did, however, keep the bottom half and brought it home for my kids to use on the floor. It's still cute but has lost it's functionality in my classroom. Honestly, I'm writing a review now, a year later, because I do think that a chair like this, at this cost, should last a little longer than just barely a year. It got little use and was only used by me, really. Let me also mention that I'm 145 lbs. and did not (at least, I believe not) exceed the weight limit on this thing. It just tilted right back and fell apart as I went to sat in it. If you're considering a chair like this, try and look past it's cool and modern look to assess it's function and durability over time. As I consider another chair for my classroom, I think I'll go for something a lot more durable...although it's really hard to find that and have one that looks pretty neat, too. Oh well.I like this item. Very, very easy to assemble. It feels pretty solid although the piece that goes over the wheel base is very cheap plastic. Considering that is an aesthetic piece, it's OK. The chair is comfy, rolls around well for now, and looks nice! Mine arrived with a 1 inch ding and a 1/2 inch ding on the "wood" part. I contacted Amazon about it, and they helped me with a couple of options! I appreciate the item and the service!Update: Just over one month into owning the chair, I notice a large bubble and 6" split in the veneer on the back "wooden" panel. Also, the seat cushion is developing a crease. Amazon will not replace the item, so I have to order a new one at full price and send this one back. It's a hassle I am disappointed I have to go through these extra steps. I really like the chair, but I'm still on the fence about if I will reorder and risk all of these issues again.Love the design. I get a lot of compliments and much more comfortable than expected. I purposely choose style over comfort since I want the chair to force me to get up and move. As a designer, I can get so focused and sit for 8+ hours without moving! I had a Herman Miller chair and a HumanScale chair that I simply would lose track of time in. This resulted in extremely tight hips and hamstrings from not moving. So I traded those very expensive chairs for a chair that would look great but would also force me to get up and move around and not sit hours on end. This fit the bill exactly.Easy to put together, easy to clean, but do be careful, my 3 year old nephew has already dinged the wood spinning in it and hitting my desk. I'll have to go buy wood pencils or putty to cover dents... but overall, this chair is a great deal!Chair is really comfortable even during long sit downs. It looks great. The wood finish is beautiful. The only thing is the leather collects air and either sighs or farts sitting or getting up. It’s funny, but why so much noise? I really like that it fits nicely under the desk so it’s out of the way when not in use.I bought the chairs for our home office. I love the look and feel of the chairs, however one came scratched. The box it arrived in was also damaged.Really love this chair. Fits well for a small person (5’2”) , though my back never touches the back seat part otherwise my feet won’t touch the floor. A heavier or “hippier” person might be challenged. As others mentioned, the chrome paint on the legs was a bit chipped when I opened the box. Kept it anyways. Easy to put togther. I would buy it again.Veneer finish is prone to chipping, but chair looks great and is comfortable for daily work at my desk.I love the product its the same as In the picture Great quality and finish . stylish looking chair .Would Prefer To buy again .I just Gave 4 stars .. i guess durinng the shipping slightly the paint has gone of on the side handle .thats the only complaint i have .
