I am surprised and a little intimidated to be the first to review this neglected masterpiece. Imagine Hammock collaborating with the Cocteau Twins. I know thats lame , but the closest I can come. Trying to describe such a unique sound is like trying to decribe color to the blind; comparisons are the best I can come up with. But I think it was Oscar Wilde who said "comparisons are odious"so there you are. A ethereal sadness pervades the entire album but its a sadness that somehow comforts and makes you feel less alone when sad. All I can say is if you like Hammock,The American Dollar, This Mortal Coil, Dead Can Dance, or L'Altra, you will love this. And if you like some of the aforementioned but don't know them all be sure to check them out. Buy this without reservation.
