Ed was influenced in the area of music by His dad who was a trombone player and avid fan of big band music and his mom who enjoyed singing in the choir. Both were great lovers of music. Ed picked up on that interest and learned to play the clarinet at a young age while in grammar school and later on learned to play the tenor saxophone in high school. Although always a lover of the music of the church, it was not until after Ed trusted Christ as Savior in 1978, while in college, that he became interested in learning more about the hymns and would often lead the hymn sings at the local gatherings of believers. With the encouragement of those who enjoyed hearing sample recordings of Ed singing and after much prayer the album "Is a Better Home Awaiting?" is now a reality. It includes a 24-page booklet that describes the history of the hymns and how they are tied together to the title. You will no doubt enjoy the original words and compositions that are used, along with Ed's rich and vibrant voice. The CD would make a great gift for both those who know and love the old hymns as well as those who may have heard them but have not considered the import of their words concerning the future. In addition to music Ed is a lover of God's Word and has been commended as a Bible teacher by several local churches. His ministry is dedicated to increasing the understanding of the Christian Bible for the purpose of encouraging the surrender of one's life to Jesus Christ, personal devotion, and righteous living. The ministry encourages in-depth studies of the Bible and it's application to life. This purpose is accomplished by the spoken and written word through an itinerant teaching ministry throughout the United States and Canada. May God be pleased to use the ministry, whether in word or in song, for His glory and your blessing.
