Features The App The Sensor What's in the box? Party Squasher sensor device (2.2 x 2.2 x 0.9 inches); a QR code on the bottom of the device is read by the Party Squasher app to configure the deviceUSB power adapter (with prongs for US-style outlets), rated 100v to 240v, delivers 1 amp at 5 volts30-inch (75 cm) USB cable for power30-inch (75 cm) ethernet cable for router The sensor is compact and discreet. It simply hooks up to your router and counts mobile devices, even if they aren’t connected to your Wi-Fi network. Use your mobile phone’s camera to scan the QR code on the back of the sensor to link that sensor to your cloud account at PartySquasher.com. Look for the video in the list of videos and images at the top of this page for how to set up and use. Quick to install and easy to use: Download the mobile appScan the QR code on the device to link it to your phoneChoose small, medium, or large houseSet the alert threshold (# of mobile devices detected)Choose to receive either SMS or email alerts. Subscription Service Like insurance, Party Squasher is a subscription service. The initial sensor purchase includes a twelve-month subscription for the cloud service. Renew your annual subscription on your mobile phone. The cloud service employs advanced cloud heuristics and analytics software, developed by BlueZoo Inc. and protected by six US patents. It's a small amount to pay to avoid party disasters! Ideal for Detached Homes Party Squasher is ideal for detached homes, where our calibration (small, medium or large homes) lets you distinguish between mobile phones on your property and those nearby. Party Squasher is less suitable for apartments/condos (especially in multi-unit wood-framed buildings) where it’s difficult to know if a mobile phone is in your neighbor’s apartment/condo or your own. Occupancy Accuracy One Party Squasher sensor can accurately count hundreds of mobile devices by passively listening for their WiFi “signals”. Occupancy accuracy at the low end of the range is typically +/- 3 devices due to the occasional reception of distant mobile phones. This isn't a good solution to know if 2, rather than 3, people are in your house, but will accurately report if there are 20 rather than 10 people.

Features

GET ALERTED BEFORE THE PARTY STARTS — Party Squasher is NOT a noise monitoring product, it's better! A couple hours usually pass between the time people gather, have a few drinks, and then get noisy. By then, it’s too late neighbors have called the police, red wine is on the carpet, and the party is in full swing! By measuring the number of people at your house, Party Squasher stops the party early, before the noise starts.

TAMPER-PROOF — Unlike noise monitors, the Party Squasher sensor cannot be muffled. The sensor can even be placed in a locked closet. It’s compact, robust, and will alert you if it is ever unplugged.

DESIGNED FOR DETACHED HOMES — Got an Airbnb or Vrbo property? Stop the parties that put your property at risk of damage, complaints, fines, and delisting. The Party Squasher sensor is designed to detect if a party-size gathering is in or around your house. It isn’t suitable for knowing specifically if just a handful of people are present.

EASY TO INSTALL, WITH SAME-DAY SUPPORT — Just connect the sensor to your home’s internet router using the provided cable. Then install our mobile app to set your desired occupancy limit, monitor real-time occupancy, and get alerts via SMS or email if your limit is exceeded. Access support at support.partysquasher.com

PRIVACY FRIENDLY — No intrusive cameras or creepy microphones that have to be in the same room (or yard) as the noise. It’s also fully GDPR-compliant, respecting the world’s most stringent privacy regulations.

I bought mine a couple years ago and so far it's worked like a charm. When i purchased it i was in need (and very much still need) of a way to prevent parties from happening on my property, especially given past experiences with neighbours/police, and the looming threat that the city might get involved. I reckoned that anything i could do help prevent the parties would be better than waiting for the worst to rear its ugly head.Overall, what I like about PSQ is that once it's set up it pretty idiot-proof, as far as guests are concerned. Put it in a closet in the centre of the house (out of sight) and it'll never get disconnected or tampered with. It'll quietly sit there and keep an eye on things, and i'll only get notifications if there's something wrong, or i get a brief service interruption due to a power outage (thanks, ConEd).To be clear, this is best suited for looking out for large groups of people in the house... not a couple, or half a dozen. It isn't a hyper-fine security device - it's a rough monitor to gauge when things have gotten out of hand. So don't be concerned if you get a sudden uptick because it detected the neighbours walking the dog nearby; its value is in its ability to notice a spike of 20 people showing up over the course of half an hour. The trick is to catch a party early. I've never had to do more than place a timely call to the house to stop a party before it goes any further.
