I have work with little kids and taught teachers in graduate school. Sandy Boy is a perfect children's book! It' s a quiet story with calming pictures and a horse with a good heart. But like all kids, he has fears when new things happen. The biggest fear for Sandy and little ones is whether they will be accepted by new people. Lots of adults feel that fear also.There are plenty of times that the reader can stop and ask quiet questions. "Did you ever feel that way? " "Sometimes are new places scary?"
