This is very well made. It is very heavy. Because of that and perhaps due to the placement I chose, they don't exactly blow in the wind and chime. If you push them around with your hand they make a lovely sound. I wanted to see them and I didn't want them out in the weather (I don't know how they would hold up in the weather), so I put them on the rail above my covered porch. They don't get much wind. They are beautiful. I felt that the chains were a bit long and I believe that's because I have them close in rather than far out. So, I removed about half the chain on each pine cone. Which made it perfect for me. If you had it way out in the yard in a tree I'm sure those chains would be a very good length.
