I ordered this. I've been eyeing it for a while and I decided to ignore other reviews in the belief that 'my chair' would be in tact and wouldn't break. It arrived broken - in the same way as another poster described. The wood chair slats are not rattan - neither are they balsa wood, but they could be. They are so fragile that just sitting down in the chair will break it. I'm 110 lbs. I was scared to sit in the chair. I'm not returning this - too much of a hassle. I'll babysit the ottoman and I put the chair outside - it will probably dissolve in the rain. It also has the California Prop warning for cancer under the seat. Shame.I ordered Shenandoah White Chair and Ottoman from Amazon. Once arrived they looked great. However I could feel they were not very strong. I'm only 115 pounds. When I sit on the ottoman one rod cracked and broken at three places. By looking at the broken piece one can immediately tell how weak it is, not much stronger than a piece of straw, not even has straw's toughness. I thought maybe the ottoman was not for me to sit on. However when I sit on the chair it broke too! I don't think this item can be called furniture. Since I already throw away the packing box, I had to pay $42 for packing material to return them.Well made, lovely chair & ottoman. Want to buy another as soon as another white one is available. This chair is a lounge chair so you sit back & put your feet up. If you expect to sit up straight you will be disappointed but I love it!This chair looks as good in person as it did online. It is something different and unique and looks really good on my indoor porch n
